PRESS RELEASE David F. Russell, P.E., President of RUSSELL CONSULTING is named as interim Chairman to re-institute the Conservation Committee of the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA). He immediately calls for industry support and seeks new members. Mr. Russell, the founder and President of RUSSELL CONSULTING, was recently named as interim Chairman of the Conservation Committee of the NEWWA, a Division of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and given the task of reorganizing and expanding its membership. He has been an active member of the Committee in the past, and is currently an officer of the Association's Rate Committee. He has been an advocate of demand side management in general for all utilities as an integral part of their planning process. Furthermore, he considers conservation of all natural resources, and water in particular, a critical measure in today's world of ever increasing population and demands for water and energy resources. "Even in New England where water is relatively plentiful, recent drought conditions have emphasized the need to conserve and manage our demands on water supply systems." Mr. Russell is calling upon all those in the industry concerned about these issues, particularly those that have recently been forced to restrict water use, to consider participating in the reformation of the Conservation Committee.
